Weekly Photo Challenge: Creepy

Piece of Meat

To be regarded merely as a sex object, to be treated as a ‘piece of meat’, is pretty creepy.

I used a lot of negative space to echo the negative connotations.
I wanted the meat to look like a tongue to symbolise salivation and to inspire action.
‘Steak’ your claim to respect, speak out against objectification.
Symbolism aside I think this salivating tongue is pretty creepy.

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Creepy.”

About sabinabrennan

I don't believe that we are any one thing. What and who we are at any moment in time is complex and context dependent. While labels are a useful shorthand that help us to navigate the world, all too often they play into people's prejudices and preconceptions. Here is a list of labels about me that begin with the letter 'p' Psychologist, Parent, Pro-Equality, Pacifist, Photographer, Perfectionist I could just as easily select another letter and make a different list of 'About me' labels. So try not to prejudge its just a list of labels beginning with 'p'

  1. I think its brilliant. But then, I also think it is funny that when the word “meat” is added to other words, it makes it sound kinda dirty… like Meat Counter.
